Income tax return filing is the annual declaration of your income, deductions and tax paid to the Income Tax Department, and it is needed by salaried employees, freelancers, professionals, business owners, investors and NRIs with Indian income. A return is only as reliable as the numbers behind it, so our team of Chartered Accountants first matches your documents with the data the department already holds, then selects the correct ITR form, computes the tax under the regime that suits you, files the return and guides you through e-verification, which is what makes the filing complete.
Who provides this service: our team of Chartered Accountants.
Who Needs Income Tax Return Filing?
- Salaried employees who want deductions, regime choice and TDS credits handled correctly
- Freelancers, consultants and other professionals with income that is not covered by Form 16
- Business owners who need a return that matches their books, GST turnover and TDS records
- Investors with capital gains from shares, mutual funds, property or crypto-asset transfers
- NRIs and returning residents with rent, interest or sale proceeds from Indian assets
Key Benefits
- The correct ITR form chosen from your actual income sources, not from last year’s habit
- Your documents reconciled with the Annual Information Statement and Form 26AS before filing, so reported income and TDS credits agree
- Comparison of the available tax regimes so you pay under the one that suits your deductions and income mix
- Capital gains from shares, mutual funds and property computed with the right holding-period and cost treatment
- Guidance on foreign assets, ESOPs and other disclosures that are easy to miss and costly to correct later
- Support with e-verification and with any refund status or intimation that follows the filing
How It Works
Collect income and tax documents
You share Form 16, bank statements, investment proofs, rent receipts and capital gains statements. We also pull your AIS and Form 26AS, so we see what the department already knows about you.
Reconcile and identify the right ITR form
We compare your records with AIS and 26AS, flag differences in interest, dividends or TDS, and decide which ITR form applies, because filing on the wrong form can make the return defective.
Compute tax and compare regimes
Our CAs compute income under each head, apply eligible deductions and exemptions, work out advance tax and TDS credits, and compare the tax payable under the regimes available to you.
Review the draft with you
You receive a plain-language summary showing income, deductions, tax paid and refund or balance payable. Nothing is filed until you have checked the figures and confirmed any disclosures.
File the return and e-verify
We submit the return on the income tax portal, pay any balance through challan, and walk you through e-verification, such as Aadhaar OTP or net banking, since an unverified return is treated as not filed.
Track processing, refund and follow-up
After filing we help you read the intimation, follow the refund status and respond to any mismatch or defect notice, so the return is processed cleanly and the file is closed properly.
Documents Required
- PAN and Aadhaar, with PAN-Aadhaar linkage status confirmed
- Form 16 from each employer, and salary slips where details differ
- Annual Information Statement and Form 26AS downloaded from the income tax portal
- Bank statements and interest certificates for savings, fixed and recurring deposits
- Investment and deduction proofs such as life insurance, PPF, ELSS, health insurance and donations
- Home loan interest certificate and rent agreement or rent receipts, if claiming related benefits
- Capital gains statements from brokers, mutual fund houses and property sale or purchase deeds
- Details of foreign assets, foreign income or ESOPs, if any
- Business or professional income summary, with books of account where applicable
Timeline and Fees
Indicative timeline: Indicative range of a few working days after we receive complete documents. Salary-only returns are quicker, while capital gains and business cases take longer, and refund processing depends on the Income Tax Department.
Professional fee: The fee depends on the ITR form, the number of income sources, how many transactions need to be computed and whether tax planning advice is included. Contact our team for a written quote after sharing a short summary of your income.
What Can Go Wrong if This Is Missed or Done Incorrectly
- A late or belated return attracts a late filing fee and interest on any unpaid tax
- Income missing from the return but visible in AIS can lead to a mismatch notice and an adjusted demand
- Wrong deductions or understated income can bring scrutiny, penalties and a longer assessment
- An unverified return is treated as not filed, so refunds are delayed and losses may not carry forward
Frequently Asked Questions
Which ITR form should I file?
The form depends on who you are and what you earned. Simple salary and pension cases usually fall under ITR-1, individuals with capital gains or several properties under ITR-2, business or professional income under ITR-3, and presumptive taxation under ITR-4. Eligibility conditions change, so we check the latest form instructions for your case.
Do I have to file a return if my income is below the taxable limit?
Filing is required once income crosses the basic exemption limit, and also in some situations regardless of income, such as holding foreign assets or meeting specified high-value transaction conditions. Even where it is not compulsory, many people file to claim a refund of TDS, carry forward losses or keep income proof for loans and visas.
What happens if I miss the ITR due date?
You can usually still file a belated return within the time the law allows, but with a late fee, interest on unpaid tax and loss of certain benefits, such as carrying forward some losses. Due dates can also be extended by notification, so check the income tax portal for the current year before assuming a date.
Is filing complete once I click submit on the portal?
No. A return must be e-verified within the time prescribed after filing, through Aadhaar OTP, net banking, a demat account or a digital signature, or a signed copy sent to the department. If it is not verified in time, the return is treated as not filed, and refunds do not process.
Can I revise a return after filing it?
Yes, a return can be revised within the window the Act provides if you find an omission or a wrong figure, such as missed interest income or an unclaimed deduction. Revising repeatedly is a sign of poor preparation, so reconciling with AIS and 26AS before the first filing is the better approach.
Can NRIs file income tax returns in India through you?
Yes. NRIs with rent, interest, capital gains or other India-sourced income can file with our team. The work includes determining residential status, claiming credit for tax deducted, and considering the relevant tax treaty where it applies. Overseas documents are shared digitally, and e-verification can be done without visiting India.
